Within my studies, I have been able to learn a lot about holistic health, women’s physiology, pregnancy, birth and postpartum care, and more. These interests stem from a strong sense of respect and appreciation for the magnificence of the human body, its complexities and ability to create, nourish and sustain life. Moreover, I have always had a deep concern for the Earth, the environment, and the well-being of all beings. It was in 2016 that I embarked on a transformative journey towards intuitive eating and a holistic approach to well-being. While I initially made the switch to a fully vegan lifestyle (from 2016 until 2023), due to my growing awareness of the harmful effects of the animal agricultural industry on the environment and the animals, this change in lifestyle sparked a broader exploration of how we perceive the world and our relationship with food, nutrition, ourselves, and the living beings around us, including the planet. This switch not only transformed my relationship with food but also my perspective on the interconnectedness of all living things. I came to realize that, like everything we consume, the food we eat is more than just sustenance — it is medicine for our bodies. Within the vast array of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and diverse plant varieties lies a wealth of nutritional content, energetic compositions, and unique properties that can have profound effects on our overall well-being. This further inspired me to delve into the study of holistic nutrition and Chinese medicine, which further deepened my understanding of the intricate relationship between food, our bodies, and our overall health. Chinese medicine has gifted me the understanding and perspectives on how the different systems in our body interacts, how to best support these and which forms of medicine can be used to promote wellbeing and vitality within a one’s life — physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Being able to learn about, practice and share these ancient teachings is something that I will always intend to do with the utmost respect, acknowledgment and appreciation of its true origins, while understanding that I am a life long student of the knowledge and wisdom that has been acquired over thousands of years.

The creation of life within the womb, the powerful flow of labor, the strength of the mother, and the uniqueness of each birth deeply resonate with my heart and soul. The inner wisdom a mother has about her body and baby, and the transformations she undergoes, are truly inspiring to me.
Besides my education in Chinese medicine, I am certifying as a birth doula. A birth doula is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional, spiritual, practical and informational support to the birthing person (and their partner) before, during and after childbirth. I decided to start this training as I have always been deeply fascinated by pregnancy and birth. The creation of life within the mother’s womb, the powerful flow of labor, the strength of the mother, and the uniqueness of each birth deeply resonate with my heart and soul. The inner wisdom a mother has about her body and baby, and the profound transformations she undergoes, are truly inspiring to me.
As a doula, I am present with the mother (and partner) to hold space, offer continuous personalized support in whatever way is needed, as I understand and recognize that birth is a deeply spiritual, intimate and vulnerable experience. Moreover, it is an experience that will be remembered forever, so having the best possible support is incredibly important.
Throughout my acupuncture studies and observations as a birth doula, I have been able to learn and apply traditional teachings and techniques with gratitude. I enjoy going to workshops and seminars to learn from those who have been practicing in traditional ways for years. I have attended multiple workshops from Naolí Vinaver, a traditional indigenous Mexican midwife, who taught us how a rebozo (which is a traditional Mexican shawl) can be used in different ways to provide support and comfort to the mother and baby.
During my Chinese medicine studies, I have written two research papers on women’s health. The first explored the benefits of acupuncture during pregnancy, acupressure during birth, and the various ways Chinese medicine supports postpartum care. The second paper focused on the Chinese medicine perspective on the menstrual cycle, covering physiology, pathology, and treatment. As you can see, I have dedicated much of my studies to women’s health, which has enriched my specialized knowledge and experience as a birth doula. I am continuously deepening my knowledge through study and experience, which I am very thankful for.
I look forward to welcoming you to my practice.
Much love,
Juliette Eleonora
